I still like doing things for myself.
I was worried that having someone come into my home would mean losing some of my independence. It has actually been the opposite. I get help with the things that are harder for me now, but I'm still encouraged to do what I can for myself. That means a lot to me.
Simple, transparent pricing — no guesswork.
Health First At Home is private pay, with several ways to cover the cost of recovery support. We'll walk you through a clear estimate before you commit to anything.
Common questions about recovery support.
No. Health First At Home provides non-medical home care — help with daily activities, mobility, reminders, and transportation. We don't provide skilled nursing, wound care, or clinical therapy, and we work alongside (not in place of) your medical team.
No referral is required — families can reach out directly. That said, we're glad to coordinate with your surgeon's office or discharge planner if that's helpful for your situation.
Care can typically begin within 24–48 hours of discharge. Reaching out before surgery, when possible, helps us have a Care Partner ready to go the moment you're home.
We're a private-pay agency, and we also work with long-term care insurance and VA Aid & Attendance benefits for eligible veterans. We'll walk through a clear cost estimate with you before care begins.
Recovery isn't linear, and neither is our support. We check in regularly and adjust the care plan — more support early on, less as you regain independence.
A dependable option for your post-op patients.
Same-Day Response
Referrals are returned the same day, so care can begin without delay.
Fall-Risk Awareness
Care Partners are trained to recognize and reduce fall risk during recovery.
Clear Communication
We stay in touch with your team and the family throughout the recovery window.
