Frequently Asked Questions

Health First AT HOME serves families throughout Greater Boston and surrounding Massachusetts communities. Contact us to confirm availability in your area and discuss the level of support you’re looking for.

We provide non-medical home care ranging from everyday personal care and companionship to specialized memory care and advanced support for individuals living with chronic or progressive conditions. Care may include assistance with personal routines, mobility, meal preparation, medication reminders, safety, transportation, and meaningful daily engagement. Services can range from scheduled visits to 24-hour in-home care, with care plans designed to adapt as needs change.

Health First AT HOME currently accepts private pay and eligible long-term care insurance benefits. We do not currently participate in Medicaid or state-funded home care programs. During your consultation, we’ll review available service options, anticipated hours, and pricing so you understand the cost of care before services begin.

We generally require a four-hour minimum per visit. This allows our Care Partners to provide meaningful, unrushed support and helps us maintain greater consistency in scheduling and caregiver assignments. For families needing more extensive support, we can also develop schedules that include extended shifts, overnight support, or 24-hour care.

Timing depends on your needs, location, schedule, and caregiver availability. We begin with a comprehensive consultation to understand your routines, safety considerations, health needs, and personal preferences. From there, we develop your care plan and thoughtfully match you with a Care Partner. When care is needed urgently, we’ll work to determine the earliest safe and appropriate start date.

Contact Health First AT HOME to schedule a complimentary care consultation. We’ll learn what’s happening at home, what support would make the greatest difference, and what matters most to you or your loved one. From there, we’ll recommend a customized care plan, discuss scheduling and pricing, and carefully match the right Care Partner for your needs.
